Christopher Lake Winter Festival

On Saturday, March 5, 2005 our group was asked by the organizers of the Christopher Lake Winter Festival to setup a display on amateur radio and advertise our association at the Christopher lake Legion Hall.

The display was from 9:00am to 3:30pm and we handed out pamphlets and made a few contacts using IRLP. We had several people stop by our display asking about amateur radio and what the requirements are to become licensed. We had several people ask about the local repeater system and the IRLP network. In general, it was a good opportunity to advertise our association and spread the word about amateur radio. The amateur radio operators involved were, Randy “VE5QU”, Wayne “VE5DWT, Tim “VE5TJD”, Harry “VE5HFH”, Bob “VE5MY” and Rolly “VE5RO”
