The hole is 7 feet deep and lined with railroad ties. It previously had a shack with 6ft walls and a walk-in door. It was put there in the late 70s and stood till we had that 106K wind storm several weeks ago. This new cover has just a 1ft wall fastened with hurricane straps, screwed and glued! The roof is 5/8 plywood. All lumber is treated - should out-last a lot of us! It has an insulated floor (Roxall) as is the roof. The repeater, ve5xw, will be at the old frequency 146.73. It will also have APRS digi showing temp and battery voltage. We have purchased a new wind generator to supplement the solar cell on the tower. The pics are just construction showing Gus, ve5spi, Mike, ve5mmg and Ned, ve5ned.
